Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Loss Prevention Manager to oversee security operations and ensure the safety and security of our resort. Responsibilities include performing the duties of the Director of Loss Prevention as assigned, ensuring compliance with security standards and operating procedures, and overseeing the training program for all new security officers. The role involves reviewing reports completed by security officers, investigating incidents such as losses, thefts, accidents, and acts of violence, and maintaining guest room surveillance procedures. Additionally, the Manager will establish and maintain a strong working knowledge of fire safety procedures, ensure proper assignment of shift personnel, and document and report any discrepancies in the key control program. The ideal candidate will be familiar with security tools and equipment such as portable radios, Safemark and Salto handheld devices, and cameras, and be able to work effectively in both interior and exterior resort environments with exposure to extreme temperatures and hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Be familiar with and perform the duties of the Director of Loss Prevention as assigned.
  • Ensures all Security standards are properly followed.
  • Be familiar with all Loss Prevention standard operating procedures.
  • Oversee the training program for all new Security officers.
  • Reviews all reports completed by Security officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
  • Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates (i.e. losses, thefts, accidents, and acts of violence).
  • Maintains guest room surveillance procedures.
  • Ensured that all phases of the key control program are maintained, and any discrepancies are documented and reported.
  • Establish and maintain a strong working knowledge of the fire safety procedures for the resort.
  • Ensures that shift personnel are properly assigned at all times.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Telephone, photo-copying machine, computer and printer, filing cabinet, facsimile machine
  • Portable radio, Safemark and Salto handheld devices, camera, first aid equipment.

Working Environment:

  • Interior of resort buildings, in all areas with exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Exterior of resort buildings with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent is preferred
  • Must have prior experience in Loss Prevention/Security role
  • Understand and follow organizational chain of command
  • Able to demonstrate team-oriented leadership abilities with associates
  • Proven professionalism with guests and associates required
  • Critical thinking and decision-making ability is mandatory
  • Experience with and familiarity with OSHA standards required
  • Previous experience with training and maintenance of safety standards
  • Must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
