Risk Transformation Analytics & Reporting Director
The position will lead a team resposible for setting the strategic direction for, capabilities in, and execution of, Reporting & Analytics for the Enterprise Risk Division (ERD).
  • This will include partnering with Data & Analytics and Data Engineering to document business logic and drive the ERD data model and warehousing strategy as well as the analysis and production of Executive Management and Board level reporting of Comerica's risk and control profile through both quantiative and qualitative reviews.
  • This position will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy, timeliness and transparency of integrated risk-related information and faciliating effective risk management practices including Risk Monitoring and Reporting.
  • They will be responsible for enabling Enterprise Risk Reporting and advising the First Line on development of Risk Reporting to help ensure standardized, governed but self-sufficient capabiities across the Enterprise
In addition, they will contribute to the Enterprise Risk technology reporting platform strategy, and will be responsible for developing and driving Enterprise Risk's reporting business automation strategy.
Position Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Collaborate with Data & Analytics and Data Enginering to define and manage the strategy and roadmap for reporting across ERD and the Lines of Business, to ensure a standardized approach to the use of Risk related data.
  • Transform reporting capabilities to ensure data integrity across ERD and create a single source of truth.
  • Responsible for creating a center of excellence that will partner across ERD and the Lines of Business to develop and automate reporting that will enhance the overall Risk reporting for the Bank.
  • This role will provide observations of current and historical data trends, interpret cause and effect patterns found in data, and apply historical experience relevant to current day decision with Execuitve Leadership and various committees including the Board.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and demands in regards to reporting and data analytics for the Enterprise Risk Division.
  • Participate in industry forums.
Enterprise Risk Reporting and Development
  • Responsible for managing the center of excellence and oversees the requirements documentation, process design and development, data validation, testing and distribution of information and ensures that the data is accuarate and meets the overall standards and requirements.
  • Develop and implement reporting systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with the line of business to develop risk reporting to ensure standardized, governed, but self-suffcient capabilities across the enterprise.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations that can be used at Committee and Board meetings.
  • Responsible for identification, analysis and reporting on Enterprise Level KRIs and impact on Risk appetite for Executive Management and the Board.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy, timeliness and transparency of integrated risk-related information and faciliating effective risk management practices including Risk Monitoring and Reporting.
Enterprise Risk Data Management
  • Accountable for the collection and analysis of data from various sources and ensure data integrity, accuracy and security.
  • Create a data model that can be used to create consisent reporting.
  • Develop aggregated view of current Enterprise Risk Data sources.
  • Collaborate with managers within Enterprise Risk to evaluate opportunities to leverage data across the Division.
  • Identify and evaluate ongoing opportunities to leverage existing data for process, analytic, and business enhancements within the ERD
  • Identify new data technology investments and direct the evaluation, prioritization, and process for project funding for all of Enterprise Risk.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders throughout Comerica with regards to other major coporate activities which could impact data.
  • Partner with Data Analytics and Data Engineering to drive the ERD data model and warehousing strategy as well as the analysis and production of Executive Mangement and Board level reporting.
Leadership
  • Promoting collaboartion and peer relationships within the team as well as others in Enterprise Risk and the Lines of Business.

  • Provides clear communication and requirements to the team.
  • Support appropriate budget and resource allocation commensurate with the compliance needs of the bank.
  • Support core values and culture that emphasize the importance of compliance in both the Compliance group and across the enterprise.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 10 or more years experience in initiating, designing, and managing Enterprise Risk reporting projects
  • 10 or more years experience in organizing, consuming, and analyzing data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities, with the ability to transform the data into visualizations for presentations in a way for all to understand
  • 5 or more years Collaborating across Lines of Business to achieve solutions to business needs
  • 5 or more years Experience with process management practices to assess available business tools, their uses, and potential improvements.
  • Technical, hands on experience with:
    • Deploying and utilizing industry standard business intelligence tools platforms (Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SQL etc.),
    • Report requirements documentation
    • Creation of analytics and visualizations
    • Data management and governance
