Principal IT Architect

What we're seeking:
In the role of a Principal Architect specializing in Transformation, you will spearhead the strategic planning and execution of transformative initiatives within the telecommunications domain. Your role is pivotal in driving the evolution of existing services to meet the demands of emerging technologies, changing market landscapes, and evolving customer needs. In this in-person role, you will be required to report to our Dallas, TX or Tampa, FL location to complete your work responsibilities.

What we need in you:
We need a solid team player with enterprise level Architect experience. You will have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical aspects to the next level and an understanding of the business impact.

What you'll do:

Strategic Planning:

  • Lead the development of telecom transformation strategies aligned with business objectives, market trends, and technological advancements.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and disruption in the telecom industry, including the adoption of cloud-native architectures, software-defined networking (SDN), network function virtualization (NFV), and edge computing.
Transformation Roadmap:

  • Define and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for telecom transformation initiatives, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives based on business value, technical feasibility, and resource availability.
Architectural Design:

  • Design scalable, resilient, and future-proof telecom architectures that support the delivery of next-generation services, such as B2B, EDA, 5G, IoT, and AI-driven applications.
  • Develop reference architectures, design patterns, and best practices for the implementation of transformative solutions across access, core, and transport networks.
Technology Evaluation:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, products, and solutions to assess their suitability for telecom transformation initiatives.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) and pilot projects to validate the performance, scalability, and interoperability of new telecom technologies.
Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and technology partners to gain buy-in and support for telecom transformation initiatives.
  • Communicate the value proposition, benefits, and risks associated with transformational projects in a clear and compelling manner.
Change Management:

  • Develop and implement change management plans to facilitate the adoption of new processes, technologies, and organizational structures.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams undergoing transformational change, including training, coaching, and mentoring.
Governance and Compliance:

  • Establish governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure the effective management and oversight of telecom transformation programs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and security best practices in all transformational activities.
Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and impact of telecom transformation initiatives.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and optimization, leveraging feedback from stakeholders and lessons learned from previous initiatives.

  • Salary Range: $52,000 - $163,000
  • 20 PTO (Paid Time Off) days + 10 paid holidays per year

What background you should have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in architecture, strategy, and transformation roles.
  • Proven track record of leading complex transformation initiatives from conception to implementation with specific considerations on telecom and digital.
  • Deep expertise in B2B, digital, and telecom technologies, standards, and protocols, with a focus on next-generation networks and services.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire change at all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant certifications in architecture, transformation, or project management are desirable such as TNMF, ToGaF, ArchiMate, CEA, CBA, Zachman, FEFF, DoDAF, and BPMN.
