Job Description

We are seeking an experienced medical device Group Marketing Manager who will have responsibility for the growth of the Knee and Biologics market segments in the US Orthopedics market.

In this critical position, you will have both global upstream responsibility for product development and downstream responsibility in the U. S. Your primary focus will be driving the growth of your portfolio in the US market, you will have great latitude to determine the direction and initiatives you choose to implement. Close collaboration with your business partners across the organization is essential.

The Group Marketing Manager (GMM) is responsible for managing the critical elements of a commercial business area, creating and executing comprehensive marketing and business plans, analyzing/assessing relevant market dynamics to 1) ensure current products meet established revenue and operating profit targets and, 2) identify future products, procedures and technologies that will further advance ConMed's market position, sales growth opportunities and operating profit.

An important key to the success of the GMM is the ability to build successful partnerships with the US sales team and internal cross-functional business partners, and develop relationships with customers and Key Opinion Leaders, demonstrating the ability to modify strategies and tactics when necessary, based on voice of customer and emerging market trends.

The GMM is responsible for leading, coaching and developing a team of highly skilled marketing professionals responsible for implementing the day-to-day aspects of product marketing to meet their defined strategic objectives.

What You'll Do:

US Commercial Marketing

  • Direct responsibility for upstream and downstream marketing, digital marketing, product management, market development, medical education strategy, claims development and strategic tradeshow planning.
  • Responsible for developing, communicating and executing marketing strategies, annual marketing plans and programs; modifying as necessary to ensure that revenue and operating profits meets or exceeds plan for assigned products.
  • Determine the market entry strategy for product ideas which may include acquisition, licensing, supply agreements, product development and work partners to bring these ideas to market.
  • Lead and develop a high functioning product marketing team focused on meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • Develop and execute strategic planning, annual marketing & portfolio planning, operational plans, effectively communicating the plans at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop new product launch plans and strategies, with cross-functional stakeholders and owners, driving adoption of innovative, higher value products.
  • Direct all product launch efforts domestically to include pricing, training, target account identification, roll out strategy, creation of all collateral sales materials and VOC customer feedback to support the product development process.
  • Define digital marketing strategies, partner with the Corporate Marketing Communications team to execute campaigns. Evaluate the effectiveness of such programs and drive improvements.
  • Partner with Sales and Finance team members to create and implement pricing/financial programs & promotions for new and existing products to meet corporate financial goals.
  • Prepare long range, annual, quarterly, and monthly forecasts for each assigned product line. Analyze forecast variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to analyze sales trends and results through effective demand forecasting techniques and ensuring adequate product inventory is available to meet sales objectives.
  • Drive and utilize market research and market data analysis to identify market and competitive insights to stay abreast of current market trends that inform marketing plans, emerging technologies and competitive threats.
  • Lead an international marketing core team to promote alignment and engagement as needed to support successful plan execution and achievement of results.
  • Partner with Sales leaders and Health Care Systems managers to develop IDN conversion efforts for the associated product portfolio/market segment. Support GPO & IDN RFP's through competitive pricing analysis and competitive cross reference support.
  • Develop relationships with key opinion leaders in order to establish a personal advisory structure for yourself and to support the development of medical education strategies/content and marketing materials.
  • Align and support cross functional teams including R&D, S&OP, Quality, Regulatory, Customer Experience, and Manufacturing to drive commercial success of the assigned portfolio.
  • On occasion will work with surgeons and sales representatives in operating room environment to support and promote CONMED's products
  • Responsible for management of assigned expenses within budget

Global Upstream Responsibilities

  • Core team member for NPD supporting the marketing deliverables as defined by external regulatory bodies such as FDA, Notified Body etc.
  • Analyze market research data to understand trends, market changes, unmet needs to develop recommendations to identify strategies and tactics for growth of the Knee and Biologics portfolio as well as develop a multigenerational product pipeline.
  • Drive Product Portfolio optimization activities for your product area.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years related experience in successful marketing roles in the medical device industry.
  • Experience in the specific market segment is preferred.
  • Strategic, innovative mindset and a high level of business acumen, establishing a strong leadership presence for the marketing function and a clear, compelling vision of where to take the business and marketing function.
  • Understanding of basic digital marketing principles and tools.
  • Experience with a CRM system (ie Salesforce) is preferred.
  • High level of personal responsibility and ownership.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and contribute to interdisciplinary teams with demonstrated results.
  • Proven ability to execute projects within timeline and budget.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Travel requirements dependent on location; Largo area 30%, Remote 40%

Requirements:

  • Ability to meet with customers at hospitals and to be a member of a credentialing agency.
