The Development & Engineering (D&E) team drives the technology, innovation and new development of data center infrastructure across Vantage's companywide portfolio. D&E evaluate new sites, drives cost and schedule in line with corporate goals and serve as subject matter experts across the entire project lifecycle from concept through commissioning. The team collaborates with Sales, Operations and management along the way. D&E also work hand in hand with the Construction team to come up with a vertically integrated design and ensures new and existing standards and designs are executed effectively. One thing that distinguishes Vantage is that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive tangible results. Our team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals unlike external resources. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high-impact decisions and results.

Position Overview

Vantage is looking for a self-starting sustainability Intern to help drive internal communication and employee engagement around sustainability. This position provides communications and technical support for the Sustainability team at Vantage Data Centers. The selected candidate will assist with projects related to sustainability, greenhouse gas management, waste reduction, and energy management including but not limited to creation of training, internal documents, SharePoint site management and employee engagement.

Essential Job Functions

• Research, develop, and update educational and employee engagement materials and website content related to sustainability and emissions management.

• Create video and/or web-based training modules on sustainability.

• Assist with communicating Vantage's ESG report to internal audiences.

Duties

• Collaborate with cross functional departments to identify hurdles and problem solve to create opportunities for improvement.

• Work closely with the sustainability team to identify priorities for employee communication and engagement.

• Explore strategies Vantage can implement related to employee engagement that could support progress toward Vantage's net zero 2030 goal.

Job Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program pursuing a degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Communications, or similar.

• 2 or more years of college courses completed.

• Minimum GPA requirement - 3.0

• Preferred In-Office 3 days/week.

• Strong interest in sustainability, corporate responsibility, environmental policy, and/or Green Building is strongly desired.

• Excellent research and analytical skills.

• Basic knowledge of sustainability topics including air quality, greenhouse gas emissions inventories, waste diversion practices, energy and water conservation, and other sustainability strategies.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience designing presentations and educational documents.

• Friendly positive attitude, self-motivated, organized, and flexible individual who can work independently and as a team member.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, experience with Adobe Creative Suite or other design tools is a plus.
