Job Description
Join our team as a Project Engineer, spearheading technical execution on a groundbreaking embedded cryptographic development program dedicated to safeguarding national and allied interests. Collaborate with experts across firmware, software, systems, and electrical engineering disciplines to drive execution by organizing tasks, managing resources, and surmounting challenges. Our workweek promotes a healthy work-life balance, starting at 9 AM on Monday and ending by 12 PM on Friday. Embrace the best of both worlds in this HYBRID role, spending three days per week on-site and enjoying flexibility to work remotely for the remainder. Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical lead for mid-sized projects across software, hardware, firmware, systems, and test engineering.
  • Provide comprehensive technical direction, guidance, development, and technical schedule execution for projects.
  • Collaborate with the PM and/or lead to create and maintain programmatic documentation (e.g., schedules, work packages, status reports, technical CDRLs) to ensure efficient planning and execution.
  • Develop and manage project schedules using MS Project, providing weekly updates including resource level loading and baseline management for technical execution.
  • Work closely with engineers to identify required tasking and estimate the level of effort for tasks, inputting data into MS Project.
  • Track engineering progress on estimations and deliverables.
  • Engage with customers for regular status updates via technical interchange meetings.
  • Lead trade studies and architecture development.
  • Implement the engineering development process within projects.
  • Support configuration management process and configuration control board meetings.
  • Aid in proposal development for follow-on work and/or new programs.
  • Manage deadlines, priorities, and provide problem-solving skills.
  • Assist PM in identifying, tracking, and mitigating programmatic and technical risks.
  • Support PM in preparing and presenting programmatic updates at monthly project executive reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Active or recently active US Government Security Clearance eligibility required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in multi-disciplined team environments in Project Engineering/Technical Manager roles or similar capacities.
  • Understanding of the DoD Acquisition Process for Engineering & Manufacturing Development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Top Secret Clearance preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in full lifecycle product development in both waterfall and agile methodologies and configuration management of produced artifacts.
  • Execution of full ruggedized product development from inception to fielding utilizing Embedded Software and Firmware on System-on-Chip technology.
  • Technical expertise in Software and/or Firmware development and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in Cryptographic Product Development and programmatic milestones such as Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), etc.
  • Background in DoD Communications Security and/or field use.
  • Knowledge of Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) and Electronic Key Management System (EKMS).
  • Familiarity with EKMS Tier 2 Applications and Tier 3 Electronic Key Fill Devices.
  • COMSEC Trained/Briefed.
  • NSA High Assurance Certification Experience.
  • FIPS 140-3 Experience.
