Position Description

To qualify for this position:

1. You must currently be employed by a Pinellas County public high school.

2. Official transcripts must be sent to the Dual Enrollment office, for credentialing, before your application can be processed.

Position Description

At the request of your high school principal or assistant principal, we are seeking experienced and qualified high school instructors who desire to teach college-level Dual Enrollment courses on their local public high school campuses.

Department: Dual Enrollment

Location: Pinellas County public high school campuses.

Key Position Information: Candidates will be expected to possess strong communication and instructional skills, as well as a commitment to student achievement and success. Must be willing to follow the SPC curriculum and cover all required learning outcomes for the college course.

Position Summary: Plan, organize, and teach to promote successful student learning outcomes.

Education Requirements: Master's degree in the appropriate academic discipline with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the specific area(s) of instruction.

Experience: Related teaching experience at the college level preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strategies that will encourage the acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities in a learning-centered environment;
  • Use observational, oral, and/or written assessment to direct and enhance learning in a timely manner;
  • Create, encourage, and maintain an inclusive environment that respects multiple learning styles;
  • Use current and emerging technologies and alternative delivery methods to enhance student learning;
  • Observe college policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development;
  • Be able to work effectively to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Attend all required professional development trainings.
