Job Description

The Operational Risk and Internal Controls Analyst is a strategic professional responsible for driving operational risk and internal control efforts to effectively manage Technology risk. The overall objective of this role is to help and guide the Technology Operations Team (GPA), evaluate and assess internal controls in order to mitigate/minimize the risks to applications / businesses that may arise due to ineffective controls or breaches.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct periodic Targeted Risk Assessment (TRA) exercises to identify weak points / breaches of Citi Policies/ Standards. Share the findings with leadership team of Global Production Assurance (GPA) and help formulate corrective actions.
  • Where necessary, advise on creation of CAP or RE for better tracking of such risks/corrective actions.
  • Help with periodic execution of Compliance related activities (EERS reviews, MCA Tests, CBAT Reviews, etc.)
  • Raise credible challenges and escalate where necessary to help uncover technology / cyber risks or gaps for better visibility and action plan.
  • Collaborate with GFT Risk & Control teams to help coordinate GFT-wide Compliance activities like Remediation of non-compliant Functional ID's, elimination of Persistent Privileged Accesses (PPA) for Support team members, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain a Risk-Control Inventory to help understand all risks and controls that are applicable to each specific area of Technology Risk Management. This should be a good tool to help prepare for Audits and to help conduct comprehensive risk-control review with Auditors and other interested parties.
  • Mitigate risk by analyzing the root cause of issues, impacts to business, and required corrective actions and develop security solutions.
  • Run special projects from time-to-time, as warranted by management from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills: ability to learn quickly, ability to partner and influence across organization
  • Demonstrated ability to research and apply current information in the domain of Technology Risk Management
  • Demonstrated ability to derive and analyze data for investigation purposes, ability to work with imperfect data
  • Consistently clear and concise written and verbal communication * Proven influencing and relationship management skills
  • Proven ability of using complex analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills
  • Self-Driven, ability to work with high-level management guidance only must be extremely organized, motivated and a self-starter
  • Ability to prioritize is key as is ability to juggle several tasks at once.
  • Must work well under pressure whilst, enthusiastic, hard-working and positive
  • Desire to improve processes
  • Team player and relationship management skills
  • Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Proactive Risk Management
  • Understands how to map Policy and Standards into controls


Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree
