DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform and/or provide direction and support for the following services:

  • Maintains program facility in a safe, functional and presentable manner.
  • Ensures tasks are completed in a timely yet effective matter
  • Ensures all maintenance areas are clean and up to client standards
  • May also assign duties to employees when directed by manager
  • Assists in preforming general repair/test maintenance to include, but not limited to electrical, building, plumbing, landscaping, painting, carpentry, and basic remodeling.
  • Ensures all maintenance equipment and supplies are accounted for at all times.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory and security of all maintenance equipment and supplies related to the facility and grounds.
  • Responds to all work orders in a timely manner.
  • Requests maintenance supplies and equipment as needed from maintenance supervisor or designee.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
  • Gather and remove litter.
  • Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, and other grounds features.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 year of formal maintenance work experience
  • Able to supervise other employees
  • Able to work with plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, basic construction knowledge and skills.
  • Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
  • Bilingual in (English/Spanish)
  • Cleared drug test results.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Clean child abuse and neglect or child protective services check (CAN)
  • Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations (Emergency Task Order or Cooperative Agreement)
  • Able to evacuate at short notice to accompany residents possibly to a different city for several days at a time.
